On August 9, 2017 Pastor Jeff flew to Eldoret, Kenya and came home August 17. During his time in Kenya, Jeff was able to work with Bishop Thomas Opiyo for 5 days. Thomas is the head of 6 churches in Western Kenya, and he also runs a seminary there with 10 campuses. He has over 120 pastors in his schools. In addition, his church runs a primary school. The goal of the mission this Summer was to bring a water well drill to his people, train them to use it, and leave it there with him for future needs. In addition to this goal, Jeff went to preach the Full Gospel as often as possible. In the 5 days Jeff was there, he preached 10 times for a combined 28 hours! His audience was mainly the seminary students and pastors. Many committed to teaching the new things God revealed while Pastor Jeff was there. A powerful thing happened on this trip: While Jeff was preaching in one of the villages, a hail storm came. The sound of the hail hitting the tin building was deafening. His translator, Pastor Ben, could not hear him (even with the microphone). So Jeff handed his microphone to Ben and went outside to say, "In the name of Jesus, I command you to stop hailing." Jeff then walked back inside the church. By the time he grabbed his microphone, there was no more hail, and the clouds quickly disappeared. (Pictures of the church and Ben are the last 6 pictures) The drill was shipped along with 2 of the builders and trained operators out of Northeast Texas on August 23, and the 2 men returned to Texas on September 6. There were plans to return in the Spring of 2018, the report is written below.
Aprils trip to Kenya
Pastor Jeff and Donna Hilliard went to Kenya on April 6th-18th to conduct VBS for the city of Eldoret, Kenya. It was the FIRST VBS EVER RECORDED IN the city of Eldoret (a city of over 400,000!), and it was a huge success! We ended up hosting 234 kids, with 230 accepting Christ for the first time! Praise God! The two of them also spoke at an annual Youth Conference for over 70 youth. They saw healings, miracles, and many people come to either a new relationship with God or to a closer relationship with Christ.
